Demes Natural Products – Cleansing Oil & Makeup Remover – ★★★

Value, $6.00

Description: Oil gets rid of oil. Olive and Castor oils are blended with essential oils to cleanse facial skin gently and without stripping or damaging skin like harsh detergents do. It’s also an amazing makeup and eye makeup remover, if we do say so ourselves. // Why? Oil cleanses without stripping away skin’s own natural sebum, and leaves skin feeling soft and nourished. // How? Directions (Oil cleansing method): On dry face massage a small amount of cleansing oil for 1-2 minutes (in small circles). Safe to use for eye makeup removal. Wet a soft facecloth with warm water and lay onto face to let steam soak. Use the cloth to wipe off the oil until it is all removed. Follow with toner and moisturizer as needed.

Oil cleansing is a main part of my winter routine in the evening and I usually use jojoba or almond oil, so I’m excited to try Deme’s blend of oils and essential oils. Castor oil is the first ingredient and I’m curious how such a thick oil will be in their blend. I absolutely love Deme’s Butter Me Up – I’m thrilled to try another product of theirs!

Available at Demes [20% off coupon thru 1/31/16: LEAPINGBUNNY20]

Auromère – Toothpaste, Fresh Mint – ★★★

Value, $1

Description: Fresh mint toothpaste featuring 23 botanical extracts.

For a long time after I went vegan I continued using Colgate/Crest and while I think the ingredients are vegan, the parent companies test on animals. The problem was I hated natural toothpaste. Tbh I still hate a lot of natural toothpastes, but I’ve found a few that I keep in my rotation. Tom’s of Maine it’s convenient and at Safeway, plain old baking soda, and Hello. I think I used too much Auromère the first time around, but I like it! You don’t need as much of this product as you’re used to using and that’s economical and eco-better. It has a clay coloring and herbal scent. The flavor is great compared to so many nasty natural toothpastes. I’m glad to have learned about this company!

Available at Auromère
