EatPastry • Chocolate Baking Mix • ★★★★

Value, $4

Description: Easy-to-use baking mixes to sweeten up your holiday.

Mmm! I love EatPastry and rarely get to try their products as they are MISSING from my region of the state. 🙁 I whipped this up and baked it in a too big bundt cake pan. It was really good, but I would shoot for muffin tins next time. Great flavor and texture for something gluten-free.

Theo • Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups • ★★★★

Value, $2.29

Description: Delectable fair trade dark chocolate peanut butter cups worth indulging in.

Honestly. I love these better than Justin’s. Like way better. Everything about it is just more Reese’s. And they’re heart-shaped! What’s not to love?

Betty Lou’s • PB&J Bars • ★★★★

Value, $2

Description: Peanut butter and jelly never tasted so good thanks to these irresistible bars.

If you love Nature’s Bakery Fig bars like I do, I bet you’d love these PB&J bars. The peanut butter ‘bread’ is thick and dense and sandwiched between is a just-perfect strawberry filling.

Perky Fruit Bodies • Fruit Leather • ★★★★

Value, $2

Description: Raw and organic dehydrated fruit roll ups in a delicious banana coconut cacao flavor.

A variation on traditional raw vegan fruit leather, this one takes bananas and coconut and blends them with cacao powder for a naturally sweet and delicious chocolate snack.

Upton’s Naturals • BBQ Jackfruit • ★★

Value, $6

Description: Ready to eat jackfruit in a savory Bar-B-Que flavor—just heat and serve!

I love many Upton’s Naturals products and I love jackfruit (we’ve been buying these cans), but I did not really care for the overwhelming tanginess of their BBQ jackfruit. The tanginess is so overwhelming it’s pretty much just sour. You can probably mellow out the flavor by adding additional sweetener/spices, but alone it will not taste like BBQ sandwich.

Follow Your Heart • Vegan Eggs • ★★★★

Value, $5

Description: Enjoy the taste and texture of eggs but in a more healthful and humane way with the VeganEgg.

To start, I loved this innovative product. But let’s have a moment of realness so you know what you’re getting into if you’ve never had them before. It reminded me of when you go to a pancake breakfast and they are preparing both the pancakes and eggs by mixing water with powder. These won’t have the texture of fresh scrambled eggs, especially because it requires a little trial and error to perfect the cooking process. Use ice cold water as they suggest and double check your quantities before mixing. I found the flavor a little inconsistent over a few batches and added a little more nutritional yeast/black salt to get the flavor I wanted. On the plus, once you perfect the cooking process, it’s incredibly easy to whip up the omelettes you were used to plus it’s less costly on the planet.
