Welcome to another Micro Representations where I highlight big and little references to veg-based lifestyles in media.

So, I’m listening to one of the Punk-O-Rama comps (aka compilations) I used to listen to in high school. Thank you Spotify. While reliving the stronghold, in my life, that was punk music I came across this song.

It was somewhere after TSOL’s necrophilia song.

“Don’t Have the Cow” by SNFU.

Don’t Have the Cow lyrics

You should have listened to your mother
And ate your veggies when you were younger
You should have listened to your parents
And doubled up on your peas and carrots

Even though I eat meat
I appreciate the irony
Now that the cows are going mad

The vegetarians are laughing at us now
Well this just make you want to hate them even more
But if you indulge in that
You’re no smarter than the slab of beef you eat
The one that’s now driving you mad

I hate to be an I told you so
but I fucking told you so
Meat is murder and it’s killing you
Now what the hell are you going to do?

Have a Listen

Yes, this was totally written during the mad cow disease era aka bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE).

I love it so much. This comp also reminded me of the band Millencolin. Off to finish the listen. xx
