Loved it/bought it since ★★★★ • Good stuff ★★★ • Not for me ★★ • Hated it ★

My review of the Vegan Cuts September 2014 beauty box.

Suncoat – Mascara –  ★★★

Description: Natural, sugar-based mascara with mineral pigments and Vitamin E and without toxic preservatives.

I feel mixed about this mascara. The brush isn’t my favorite, but it’s not the worst either. Application feels like you’re dragging wax across your eyelashes with little build-up. Most mascaras are buildable, but most start half way up the mountain. Now part of this is because my eyelashes are a shade darker than blonde. When I put this on it looks like my eyelashes are naturally black without the volume or thickening you get with 100% Pure, Better Than Sex, or even Tarte.

While I was frustrated it didn’t look drastically different from what I was born with it actually looks nice and of course—very natural—but a step above no makeup.

So I kinda like it.

Ingredients: Aqua (water), kaolin clay, vegetable glycerin, hydrolyzed Zee mays (corn) starch (natural sugar-based biopolymer), lecithin, Citrus grandis (grapefruit) seed extract, tocopherol (vitamin E), citric acid, and pigments.

Lunatick Cosmetic Labs – Eyeshadow – ★★★

Description: Talc-free eyeshadow in a high-shine bronze with silver reflective sparkles that add a little drama to your look.

A gorgeous gold that my makeup skills are not worthy of using. After looking at their other pallets I now recognize them from XOLoveLeti’s videos. 🙂 Cool!

Clark’s Botanicals – Moisture Mask – ★★★

Description: Deluxe Deep Moisture Mask that combines algae, comfrey root, jasmine and green tea to give your skin a natural glow.

I’m really starting to appreciate getting to try products and brands I’ve never heard of that I probably wouldn’t hear of or get the chance to try first. Almost 2 ounces of this super duper moisture mask retails for $70. Is this the fountain of youth?? While I can’t answer that I will say the fragrance though lite is heavenly. Notes of jasmine? It feels like a primer or hair pomade. Very silky and luxurious.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Saccharide Isomerate, Symphytum Officinale Extract (Comfrey Root), Glyceryl Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate Xylitylglucoside, Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract (Japanese Green Tea), PEG-100 Stearate, Anhydroxylitol, Algae Extract, Cetearyl Alcohol, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Xylitol, Coco-Glucoside, Dimethiconol, Phenyltrimethicone, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Acetate), PPG-3 Benzyl Ether Myristate, Polyacrylamide, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Extract, Laureth-7, Caprylyl Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Methylisothiazolinone, Propylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance

Derma E – Microdermabrasion Scrub – ★★★★

Description: Microdermabrasion Scrub with Dead Sea salt and volcanic sand to buff away dull cells for soft and smooth skin.

I’m familiar with Derma E they were one of the first brands I tried almost a decade ago when I was trying to cure my skin problems. I picked up some of their products while perusing Vitamin Shoppe. This microdermabrasion scrub is wonderful! It feels like granular lotion and when gently rubbed into the skin doesn’t irritate or cause redness. It left my skin feeling silk and smooth without the dryness. Sniff sniff I’m almost out. I use it once or twice a week.

An additional plus is Derma E’s entire line is vegan and cruelty-free.

Ingredients: Purified Water (Aqua), Stearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate Citrate, Alumina, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Essential Oil, Carrageenan (Irish Moss), Magnesium Oxide (Dead Sea Salt), Citrus Limon (Lemon) Essential Oil, Citrus Sinensis (Sweet Orange) Essential Oil, Hydrated Aluminum Silicate (Kaolin Clay), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Volcanic Sand (Pumice), Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil* (.1%), Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.

Available at Amazon • Derma E

Only Goodness Inside – Aluminum-Free Deodorant – ★★★

Description: Long lasting, aluminum-free deodorant with Dead Sea minerals to keep you stink free.

Deodorant can be simple, effective, and inexpensive. It’s also good to try other brands from time to time. My Goodness applies like a lotion so it absorbs really easy and doesn’t have the too hard (thanks to coconut oil and shea butter) feel. It is just ready to absorb. They have several scents and I recently just ordered two to try from the Vegan Cuts marketplace.

Available at Only Goodness InsideVegan Cuts
