Feed Your Skull a Snack: Broccoli and GuacamoleInto the sea you and me…

What if the sea was entirely broccoli and guacamole?? Could you eat your way to shore? I think I could. And that broccoli is just waiting for a rescue.

Using vegetables—and in this case broccoli—instead of chips is the way to go for me.

I can devour a bag of chips during an evening. No control.

I love buying the good-ingredient-list guacamoles (or make your own) for these kind of snack sessions. If you go to Costco you can even pick up mini individual packs that are about 80 calories. Pair that with a sandwich size bag of mixed vegetables and it is snackfection!

Today I had sugar snap peas and guac. Be still my heart – what a great combo. The subtle sweetness and crunch of the peas with savoriness of the guacamole was amazing.

    Hi Michelle,

I, like you, can eat my weight in guacamole and having been raised in New Mexico, salsa also has a special place in my heart. I struggle to find replacements for chips because nothing is quite as good as a freshly baked tortilla chip, but I recently discovered that broccoli can serve as a great dipper for salsa as well! Just break off each little tree and swipe through your favorite salsa! Broccoli’s subtle flavor doesn’t conflict with the salsa, and the crunch in each bite is very similar to eating chips as well (slice each tree in half for smaller bites).

I try to eat as healthy as possible (when I’m able to resist the chips), so I just thought I’d share my discovery!

    Cheers!
