How many of you have seen the banana ghosts float around Facebook and Pinterest? I have—about a million times to be exact—but I’ve never actually made them!
They are pretty cute and all you need is a ripe banana and a few chocolate chips (dairy free). Break the banana in half and push the chocolates in to make spooky-cute faces. You could also use cacao nibs or raisins instead of chocolate.
Often they are plated in a way that makes you think they’d be a good party idea. I think they are better as a snack, unless they are going to be eaten promptly after making. My bananas started browning faster than fresh organic apples plus the banana starts to shrink away from the chocolate pretty quickly. So they don’t end up being the prettiest but they are still delicious!
Don’t turn your back on them though. They may perform a ritual sacrifice. 😉
If you’re on the lookout for other Halloween ideas, check out the chocolate pretzel spider webs and vegetable, lentil, and rice sugar skull that were posted earlier this week.
Have a spooky rest of your week! xoxo

Thank you Meleakua! and I’m so glad you mentioned carob chips, I love ’em but always forget about them if they’re not right in front of me. xo
