A tall green smoothie is my breakfast of choice. They are quick, easy and green, packing a powerful nutritional punch! When you mix greens with fruit all you will taste is the fruit and a hint of the greens.

I’ve turned many family and friends onto green smoothies. My 7 year old brother, Cameron, is a huge fan of a kale, banana, and mango combination. He especially enjoys the smoothie when he’s involved in the process. Joyfully adding fistfuls of fresh fruits and veggies to the Blendtec blender.

A hint when using greens. Strawberries taste great mixed with greens, but will alter the color of your smoothie. If you’re squeamish about the colors you drink, stick to oranges and yellows with your greens.

Enjoy!

I really like the addition of the summer squash to my smoothies. They don't have a distinctive flavor but rather add a nice texture.

    Ingredients

    • 1 small summer squash (ends removed), rough chopped
    • 2 mangos, peel & pit discarded
    • 3/4 cup frozen pineapple
    • 5 leaves of swiss chard
    • 1 cup of orange juice
    • 1/2 - 3/4 cup water, if needed

    Instructions

    1. Place ingredients in blender. Blend baby blend.

Happy to have found this and look forward to trying this recipe. I enjoy chard or kale blended with orange juice. Such a simple recipe but easy and palatable. The summer squash in this recipe is very intriguing.
