You all need to stop whatever it is that you’re doing and go make these right this very minute.

Butterfingers were one of my favorite candies in a previous life. CCK or Chocolate Covered Katie is up to her hijinks again (and I am so grateful) with these healthy, ok healthier, butterfingers. This is a great recipe to have in your arsenal when all those ridiculous big bags of Halloween candy are taunting you. Even if you wouldn’t buy them your husband might, so it’s good to have a front runner recipe like this.

Like many folks, we made these the same day she posted the recipe. Yesterday. I did say ‘we’ because even though I know better I did not prep the ingredients first but started right in on heating up the first 3 ingredients. “Jeremy! Jeremy! Can you come help me do x,y, z?”

I decided to try out the maple syrup route instead of the suggested agave. It worked out great and just made the color a little darker. Next time I’d like to try date paste as a sub for the syrup and the sugar just to experiment.
